About the artist
I am concerned with my own bodily experience, how my own body responds to my work when I am in dialogue with it, and how the viewer's body responds as they enter a discourse through looking or participating. Animus Recent works have played with body image, and the notion of body modification. Does it break down bodiy boundaries or help maintain self-cohesion? I have been exploring an animalistic/absurd side to the body and adapting the form through prosthesis, addornments and appendages. Fur, feathers and hair are a rich source of inspiration, as it the animal and the gendered body and relationships that occur between objects, people and the surrounding environment.
